A healthy mouth equals a healthy body
Oral health is connected to your body's overall health in many ways. In addition to the prevention of tooth decay, cavities, and periodontitis — a severe form of gum disease, proper dental hygiene care can help to keep oral bacteria at bay. Your oral health might contribute to various diseases and conditions, including:
Other conditions that might be linked to oral health include eating disorders, head and neck cancers.
We offer comfortable, relaxing, small, local, family-friendly, preventative dental care, all completed by an Independent Dental Hygienist.
Independent Practice Dental Hygienists (IPDH)'s are registered dental hygienists who meet the strict qualifications and guidelines through the state of Maine to be able to practice on their own, without the supervision of a dentist. This allows the IPDH to focus on quality dental prevention, and still offer a strong network of dental providers and dental specialists to refer patients to as needed. Currently, there are about 20 IPDH practices in the state of Maine.
To be proactive in your oral health, practice good oral hygiene every day, and schedule routine professional cleanings.
